MUSEUM OF THE SSHENANDOAH VALLEY WINCHESTER, VA APRIL 8, 2008 (notes and photos by Bethanne Cople) It was a rainy, chilly April morning so it was decided that we would tour the Garnett Jex exhibit at the Museum first. It was a wonderful and inspiring exhibit of one of our early members. We then received a thorough and delightful tour of the Museum gardens which naturally caused us to become both fatigued and famished. Fortunately, the Museum Tea Room was up to the task. We had a wonderful lunch and decided we were now sufficiently fortified to paint. We all enjoyed the beautiful landscape and did some fine paintings. Of course now we found ourselves parched, and so after a well inspired critique, we adjourned once again to the Museum Tea Room and had ourselves tea and scones. Now that is a paintout!!!!! Participating members: Bethanne Cople, Fiona Corn, Ed Cooper, Richard Whiteley, Lani Browning, Larry Altaffer. And guests Carol Sargent, Mimi Betz, Gillian Collins. ![]() Paintings' Critique |
