FOUNDERS PARK, OLD TOWN AALEXANDRIA, VA FEBRUARY 12, 2008 (notes and photos by Bethanne Cople) Our first Tuesday paintout got off to a shaky start. Calls were coming in all morning with artists canceling due to weather. And certainly it was cold!! I came armed with hot chocolate and cookies for any hearty souls who may venture out, but there was only myself and a painting friend Mimi Betz.. Mimi was hoping to watch some WSLP members in action, but there was just me... so we fortified ourselves with 40 ounces of hot chocolate each, and set up. Snow began to fall just a bit, and I was very glad that years of plein air work had prepared me for a rapid execution of my subject! All in all, it was a great morning. ![]() Too Cold for River Work by Bethanne Cople |
