As artists arrived they spread out, mostly up and down the C&O Canal to do their individual things. It wasn't all work, though, as people would take a break and wander around to see what everyone else was doing. The natural result was that there were sometimes several people carrying out discussions about the day, the paintings, or just catching up on news from their friends.

For our critique we met at the tables by the (closed) concession stand and had lunch followed by a sometimes lively critique session.

Despite fact that most people got a late start because of the freezing morning temperatures, we produced quite a body of work. Ten members were present; Ahlstrom, Altaffer, Barber, Cooper, Kushnir, Nuss, Piegari, Roberts, Schmidt, and Whiteley. There were also three guests, Robin Lewis, Jeanean Martin, and Janice Rosenberg.
